BOW MAKING WORKSHOP
Jerry Saddleback is an Elder-In-Residence for Muskwacis Cultural College in Muskwacis. Jerry was born and raised on Samson Cree Nation by his father who was a prominent Elder in the community.
Through his father, Jerry was exposed to many elders throughout his early childhood and was taught the Cree language, stories, ceremonies and traditional art. With over 60 years of experience, Elder Jerry Saddleback has been crafting bows since childhood and is now a master traditional bow maker.
He now co-owns Cahcacep Art & Tea House along side his wife, Jo-Ann Saddleback, where you will find his workshop!
Length 4 days or 2 weekends.
9am-5pm daily.
Maximum 10 students per session.
Courses
Introductory Course - Without Bow (This option is the full bow making course and the students will not keep the bow they create).
Advanced Course - With Bow (This option is the full bow making course and the students will keep the bow that they create).
Lunch is not provided, Water is provided.
Required:
Warm weather appropriate clothing and Gear.
Safety Gear (Hard hat, Safety Glasses and Work Gloves).

Every year, Elder Jerry Saddleback makes a trek to the Rocky Mountains to obtain the best wood for making bows.
